Take Time to Forgive: Tuesday Public Presentation
In her Easter encounter with the Risen Lord, Mary Magdalene “supposed that he was the gardener” (John 20:15). Upon hearing him call his disloyal apostles “brothers”, she grasped the truth: Christ is indeed the gardener of a new Creation - a forgiving community. With stories and visuals, we will consider the meaning of forgiveness, five stages of forgiveness and what forgiveness teaches us about ourselves, others and God.
Jesus the Gardener: Retreat
Reflecting on Mary Magdalene’s encounter with the Risen Christ, the Gardener of a new Creation, we will consider the centrality of forgiveness in her transition from profound grief to her mission as apostle to the apostles.
With images, stories and rituals, we will examine four “eucharistic moments” in the mission and ministry of the Risen Gardener: He takes, blesses, breaks, and gives, as he plants seeds of forgiveness, nurtures with showers of love, and rejects weeds of domination. The harvest is an abundant crop—a loving community of forgiveness, justice and peace.
