Gary Simpson is our housekeeper, maintenance person and decorator at the Star. His main duties include maintaining the facility in good repair, seeing that the facility is clean and tidy for the use of our guests, and redecorating and refurbishing the building within a set budget. Gary began working at the Star in 1991 with a contract to redecorate the willow room. After that he moved on to a major renovation with the dining room, front entrance, library and other areas of the building. Gary enjoys the variety of work but most of all working with a very cohesive, friendly, cooperative group of people (staff) and a broad spectrum of people (guests). In his spare time Gary enjoys such hobbies as decorating, his pets (Chewy – a 2 year old short haired chow-chow and Guber – a 25 year old Moroccan cockatoo), gardening and landscaping, cooking (especially desserts), and dining out.
